The groom-to-be, John, reached out to us after having experienced the St. Royals at his brother’s wedding in 2015 at Liberty Grand. Being a big Sam Cooke fan he recalled that the St. Royals “killed the soul music” at that event.
There were a few initial concerns about having a large band in the conservatory, as well as an older policy at the venue which did not allow brass instruments. John and St. Royal went to work to ensure that a large band would fit by building a stage over a fixed-in-place stone fountain in the conservatory, which made the stage big enough for a 9-piece band so John could enjoy all his favorite soul music being reproduced authentically.
We were permitted to bring in all that brass since the venue was able to recognize our professional reputation, and invited us to bring the full band for this client.
